Beautiful Quotes and a Freebie!!

At times like this, being in the middle of a lot of crisis, troubles, and problems, we tend to forget that there are things to still love about life... Life may not be fair, but, hey, there are a lot more to appreciate about it.

Here are a few quotes to live by... If you feel like you're in the midst of all the hardships, read on, be inspired, and change that way how you view your life each single day.

Life isn’t fair, but it’s still good.

Take a 10-30 minute walk every day. And while you walk, smile. It is the ultimate antidepressant.

Sit in silence for at least 10 minutes each day. Buy a lock if you have to.

Buy a Tivo (DVR., tape your late night shows and get more sleep.

When you wake up in the morning complete the following statement, ‘Today my purpose is to________.’

Live with the 3 E’s — Energy, Enthusiasm, and Empathy.

Watch more movies, play more games and read more books than you did last year.

Always make time to exercise.

Spend more time with people over the age of 70 and under the age of 6.

Dream more while you are awake.

Eat more foods that grow on trees and plants and eat less foods that are manufactured in plants.

Drink green tea and plenty of water. Eat blueberries, wild Alaskan salmon, broccoli, almonds & walnuts.

Try to make at least three people smile each day.

Clear your clutter from your house, your car, your desk and let new and flowing energy into your life.

Don’t waste your precious energy on gossip, energy vampires, issues of the past, negative thoughts or things you cannot control. Instead, invest your energy in the positive present moment.

Realize that life is a school and you are here to learn. Problems are simply part of the curriculum that appear and fade away like algebra class …….but the lessons you learn will last a lifetime.

Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a college kid with a maxed out charge card.

Smile and laugh more. It will keep the energy vampires away.

Life is too short to waste time hating anyone.

Don’t take yourself so seriously. No one else does.

Make peace with your past so it won’t change the present.

Ladies – Go on and burn those ‘special’ scented candles, use the 600 thread count sheets, the good china and wear our fancy lingerie now. Stop waiting for a special occasion. Everyday is special.

No one is in charge of your happiness except you.

Frame every so-called disaster with these words: ‘In five years, will this matter?’

Forgive everyone for everything.

What other people think of you is none of your business.

Time heals almost everything. Give time, time!

However good or bad a situation is, it will change.

Your job won’t take care of you when you are sick. Your friends will. Stay in touch with them.

Get rid of anything that isn’t useful, beautiful or joyful.

Envy is a waste of time. You already have all you need.

The best is yet to come.

No matter how you feel, get up, dress up and show up.

Do the right thing!

Call your family often.

Each night before you go to bed complete the following statements: ‘I am thankful for __________.’ Today I accomplished _________.

Enjoy the ride. Remember that this is not Disney World and you certainly don’t want a fast pass. You only have one ride through life so make the most of it and enjoy the ride.

These quotes will fit a lot of pages and layouts in your scrapbook. I made one with them:

A Sale and Wow-derful Layouts!

Have you checked Mel's fantastic kits lately? She's adding more and more every time and each time, she never fails to create terrific and fabulous kits. And just so you know, Mel is having a 40% off sale on her products at Gotta Pixel.

The sale will run until midnight of the 30th. So, you still have time to go and check her products out :)

***
It's always fun to experiment and play with Mel's kits... I've seen really great layouts in her gallery. This week, I chose these two LOs using two of Mel's recent additions to her collection.

This one is from Angelclaud... She used the kit, She's All That by A+ Designs

I love how she placed her elements one on top of the other. The shadowing is great which makes it more realistic and not just a flat page.

The next one is from deej. The simplicity of her page makes it an elegant one. I've also been seeing a trend of stacked paper strips used in layouts lately. In her page, she placed them under her photo which added a little interest to the whole page. In this LO, deej used Mel's Just Breathe kit.
Also, I love that these pages have a personal touch to it. You can feel how the scrappers have made them by heart and not just for the sake of scrapping the photos. They are indeed both special and memorable pages.

Great ways to find insiprations for your next LOs, right?

If you find a page with Mel's products that you'd like to be featured here, leave us a message in the comments section below and we'll feature the LOs in our next posts. Or, if you'd like to share what you've made with Mel's kits, we'd love to see them and send our ohhs and ahhs of your wonderful creation.

That's it for now.

See you again soon!

She's All That and a Quick Page

Have you picked up She's All That yet?  These fun bright colors make for some spunky spring pages.

I chose to use them for scrapping about my "baby" sister's graduation- These colors reallly reflect her personality.

I made my page into a Quick Page for you if you'd like to pick it up, click on the image to head over to the download site.

I'd love to hear feedback on what kind of freebies you'd like to see more of: wallpapers, Quick Pages, Clusters, Stacked Papers, or something else entirely.

Gallery StandOuts: Wonderful Inspiration

I've seen a lot of really great LOs this week at the A+ Designs Gallery in Gotta Pixel using Mel's Just Breathe Kit. Most of the pages had wonderful layering of elements giving them a realistic look and finish.

I specially love how wtunison used her style on this page. I love how she stacked the papers in a distorted way. Kind of adds interest to her page:

I love the colors, the layout and even how she placed her title and journaling on the page... Simply perfect!

The kit she used here is one of Mel's newest releases: Just Breathe.

You can avail of the product here at her GottaPixel Store. The kit includes 10 papers, 1 alpha, 1 berry branch, 5 flowers, 1 filler, 1 button, 1 heart flower, 1 string, 1 lace trim. 1 rose petal, 1 heart swirl, 1 heart trim, 1 tag, 1 bling, 1 bling scatter, 1 artistic smear and many more. You can go to the product page to see a complete list of kit contents.

The colors are great, perfect for the season.

You can see more pages with the kit here posted in a previous entry.

Oh, and before I forget, in case you haven't heard, Mel is having 40% off sale in her GottaPixel store running until the 30th of this month. What a great way to save! Go on and check Mel's stuff before the sale ends. She has a lot of wonderful kits in the store for you.

'Till next time! Hope you had fun with the layouts.

One More Busy Bee (freebie)

So I have been invited to several baby showers, wedding showers, and now Mother's Day is coming up and my sister is out of town and I need to send her a card to let her know I am thinking of her. But,.... I have no cards to send! I decided there is no excuse since I have such beautiful kits to work with and so many options to make cards for any occasion. Today I made two cards, one using Mel's Busy Bee, and another for some of those baby showers.

This one is made for my sister, to let her know I really miss her. I will print it on presentation paper (I figured out how to make my printer print border-less), cut the page in half, fold the card and write inside.

Pick up Busy Bee

Don't forget there are a few more hours to pick up these great deals:

and now a freebie, I took off the sentiment, so you can add your own. I like to use the "doodle" fonts from Kevin and Amanda "Fonts for Peas". These fonts have sentiments written out and they fit perfectly.

I hope you can use this card, I tried to keep it simple and I may even use it as an Easter card if I don't get more cards made before then.
